Is teaching for me?

I was just offerred a full-time position, teaching dance for the Oklahoma City school system.

--Edit--
I guess I should clarify. I'm not actively looking for a position. A friend of mine is putting together this program in OK City, and she wants me to teach with her.

That seems to have come out of nowhere. Explain.

eh, you've got nothing to lose.*

Just remember, you're not going to pick up many chicks by saying your a dance instructor at a school.

Then again, there's a lot of girls out there, so maybe.

*except your house, income, a Miata that can't move, and a small piece of dignity.

Welcome to the ranks of professionals considering teaching;) My advice? If you can ignore the teaching bug, do so. I have experienced nothing but pain and self-doubt as a result of allowing myself to consider alternative careers. If you can't ignore it, just do it and don't look back. But don't do as I have done and continue to do one thing while always wondering if you're doing the wrong thing! Either do it, or ignore it and forget about it forever.

That said, it sounds like this is out of nowhere, and you have a life in Austin. It's flattering, but the change would come with a high cost. You'd have to really really want it.
